June 30th was the last day to comment on the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area (ISDRA) Business Plan. After receiving comments from our members and thoroughly discussing with the Board of Directors, the
aSa has submitted the following letter to the Bureau of Land Management.
The aSa recently attended the ISDRA Desert Advisory Council (DAC) Subgroup meeting where a date was announced for the fee-adjustment proposal to be presented to the DAC. This special meeting will be held on July 27th. Previously, we reported that the fee-adjustment proposal would be going to the Recreation Resource Advisory Council (R/RAC); however, the DAC has the authority to meet if the R/RAC is unavailable. The DAC will review the business plan, consider public input on the fee-adjustment proposal, and ultimately make a recommendation to the BLM.
We will continue to stay on top of this issue and will provide our membership with additional information as soon as it becomes available. The aSa would like to thank all of our members who took the time to submit comments to the BLM regarding the Business Plan. We really appreciate your support.
