The partnership of the American Sand Association, AMA District 37 Offroad, San Diego Off Road Coalition and ORBA are very close to seeing the end of a multi-year lawsuit against the California Parks and Recreation Department for its failure to complete CEQA requirements before route closures in the Truckhaven Hills area of the Anza Borrego Desert. Ecologic Partners report we may see a decision in the coming weeks. If successful this may be the first case in California in which an OHV group has challenged a trail or route closing. The complaint also seeks reimbursement which would replace the coffers of the partnership.
