The California Motorized Recreation Council (CMRC) has created a sub-committee to study potential changes to the California Off-Highway Motorized Vehicle Recreation division of State Parks. ORBA President Fred Wiley, was named chairman of the CMRC sub-group by the eight delegate members. The sub-committee will be made up of stakeholders and other interested parties, and will focus on searching for solutions to the issues within the OHMVR Trust. Wiley will follow the lead of ORBA’s Jeff Knoll, who leads the Johnson Valley CMRC sub-group that has produced a strategic plan that the eight largest California OHV groups have endorsed. Exploring every option in a collaborative setting will be the focus of the new sub-group. “We will have to consider all options including the introduction of new legislation to help protect the program,” stated Wiley, referring to the new sub-group.
